Caterina Tomeo
Caterina Tomeo (1972) is an art historian alongside researching a critical and curatorial practice.

She works in contemporary art with particular interest in interdisciplinarity and research in the field of media art and sound art.

She has collaborated with the Chair of Contemporary Art History and the Department of Arts and Sciences at the University of La Sapienza in Rome, organising seminars, exhibitions and lectures on electronic and digital arts.

Caterina has participated in the production of important publications including the first Anthologies on video art in Europe, Video Stories, Video Practices by Prof.
Valentina Valentini, and catalogs of emerging artists in collaboration with Nero productions.

She has collaborated in the organization of festivals and reviews including the Video Festival in Taormina, Zero Visibility in Rome and Netmage in Bologna.

She specializes in Economics and Management of Cultural Heritage, directs management and project financing activities for companies funded by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities.

She has been Director of advanced vocational training courses, including the course in New Multimedia Cataloging techniques, held at the MACRO in Rome.

From 2008 to 201, she directed the Arts Learning Institute, a space for the promotion of contemporary artistic languages that hosted internationally acclaimed figures including Tomas Saraceno, Christopher O'Leary, Stefania Galegati, Marco Raparelli, Lol Coxhill, Mike Cooper, Elio Martusciello, Ossatura.

She is a Professor of Electronic and Digital Arts, History of Contemporary Art, Digital Video at RUFA - Rome University of Fine Arts, where she was also Head of Events and Communication.

She is a Professor of Arts & New Media, Technology and Multimedia, Art Management in the Master in Economics and Management of Arts and Cultural Heritage of the "Il Sole 24 Ore" Business School.

She is a co-director of SPRING ATTITUDE FESTIVAL.

Her texts are published in books, catalogs and art magazines.

Her book Sound Art, Listening is like seeing, was published by Castelvecchi publisher in February 2017.
