VISIONS Project Kinect Version 1.0
The Visions Project 3-D is a volumetric device that allows pseudo visualization of 3-D objects and their interaction with the user.
Objects are projected onto a pyramidal structure with a LCD monitor, and due to the special geometry of the structure, it looks like real 3-D objects floating inside the pyramid for any observer from any direction. Moreover, this structure uses a Kinect camera, in order to capture the external movement of the people and permit the interaction user-object in real time.
In other hand, this project has been conceived like a DIY portable open, that means that the structure is light and easy of build and dismantle, and all the information necessary to create, build and how to make that works, it’s share with a Creative Commons license.

How it works:
Basically, the people are placed around the structure to observe the image, but only the people placed in front the device are capture by the camera, and they can control the image.

What is needed

The device use a Kinect camera to capture the interaction, a LCD monitor to project the 3-D image, a PC to process and control the device, a pyramidal structure where the image is projected, and a external structure to support the monitor and protect the pyramid. The entire device built occupies a volume of 50 x 50 x 50 cm3.

We need a pc-desktop or laptop, sound speakers and a base cube ( 50x50 x130 cm) to support the 3-D device.
