Coming from a working background in conventional filmmaking and with experience working in a museum of film history as a projectionist, Ezhi has a deep appreciation for the moving image in its myriad of forms. Influences equally came from the dancefloors as they did from silent films at the Cinèmathèque.

This formal education paradoxically led to an interest in dismantling the established production process and instead implementing a far more imperfect, haphazard means of creation. Primarily this is enacted via filming using old MiniDV cameras, then manipulated, distorted and deconstructed live, paired with music. This approach gives way to a unique and impromptu result in each performance. Sounds follows an exploratory and experimental philosophy, delving between operatic samples, slow rolling basslines and breakbeats.

These performances are constructed in a variety of ways, often presented as live DJ + VJ, or as solely projections with a musical artist. Collaboratively this leads to a discourse and sharing of energies between musician and visual artist. If playing live DJ + VJ together, the interplay of the two mediums unfolds as an electric form of live cinema.
