un.conscious explores the territory between the conscious and the unconscious: an unstable space where learned structures, desires, memories and impulses continuously intersect. The work approaches the mind not as a unified and transparent system, but as a layered environment in which what can be consciously acknowledged coexists with thoughts and drives that remain hidden, suppressed or rejected.
Focused on unconscious processes, the work proposes a neurological journey through a mind populated by desires, memories and impulses that consciousness filters according to social and moral norms. What emerges is a tension between internal experience and the structures through which individuals learn to regulate, organise and censor their thoughts.
un.conscious gives particular importance to those moments in which this control becomes less rigid. Dreams, altered states of consciousness and situations in which attention loosens its connection with external reality become spaces where thought can move more freely, allowing images, associations and desires to emerge without immediately being subjected to judgement.
Reinterpreted nocturnal imagery contributes to a visual landscape suspended between recognition and transformation. Memories and sensations appear without necessarily resolving into a coherent narrative, following instead the associative logic of an inner state in which boundaries become less stable and different levels of experience begin to overlap.
Rather than attempting to represent the unconscious as something that can be fully revealed or decoded, un.conscious invites the viewer to experience a temporary shift in perception: a slight disconnection from external reality and an immersion in a mental space where thought can unfold with less censorship, moving between memory, desire, impulse and imagination.
