virtual is real
VIRTUAL IS REAL is an interactive hypertextual video essay in which the user of the interface composes its content. Clicking between the scenes is the equivalent of wandering through the corridors, thus becoming a virtual walk through the meanders of the Internet, a tour of the study of human peculiarities - understood here as fears and hopes accompanying contemporary people.

The textual layer of the project is a patchwork built from comments of the Internet users who are somewhat connected by searching for closeness and giving each other support in this difficult time. The community is understood here as the chorus of the Internet, often politically and socially polarized and constantly looking for hope. My goal is to both exploit and explore the language of the internet and at the same time to prove that the division into virtual and real no longer exists. Virtual is real. Present is online. Real is polarised.

The protagonist are placed in the office space which is understood here as an element of the world that is dying out in the online age. The office box becomes a separate space for them where their story can be finally heard, just like the Internet becomes a place where people can expose their fears and desires, but also a space in which social polarization is clearly visible. The language of the Internet is the language of memes, nostalgia, irony, and last but not least - of communion and support.

The video essay consists of more than 40 scenes and 30 characters, but one essay path takes about 8-12 minutes to go over.
