MEMORY I PROJECT: THE FIFTH ELEMENT
This project culminates two intense years of study dedicated to the photography. Two years in which I learned new and interesting things on the world of the photography, the images and his usefulness.
The first idea from which it departs is on the relation image - sound. After realizing several tests with the video camera, I decide to use a sequence, which is the one that here I show; it is the spiral in which my own image is.
This way, the title of the project, THE FIFTH ELEMENT, refers to the television as limit between the world and the own one I. To an emptiness full of foreign suffering that offers us the fiction as reality and vice versa. The same window of which all kinds of images looks out directly to our eyes and which determines our own interior image of the exterior world.
Probably have to see with the blindness or the deafness, of how "we" "immunize" ourselves of the things that we see or hear.
I observe inside this video turned already this image in an alive being who realizes his photosynthesis, inside the spiral of images. Realizing a fixed transparent capture with the video camera I focus directly on the monitor that it reproduces, there being created a spiral of different images that actually are the same image. Great importance plays the paper of the spectator, whose interpretations are going to continue extending his vision.
I use the musical language and experiment with the possibilities that I count, adjustment of poems, simple compositions with guitar, electronic mixtures in the computer.
