“The project promoted by Roma Culture, winner of the public announcement Estate Romana 2020-2021-2022 edited by the Department of Cultural Activities and is carried out in collaboration with SIAE”.

The 8th edition has a well-curated program of events, created with a great attention towards different types of audience. Live Cinema Festival was founded in Rome in 2014 and it is truly one of a kind event on the global scene. In fact, there is no other festival promoting this special visual language in such a complete and exhaustive manner.

These characteristics could potentially make LCF an important attraction for cultural and international tourism.

This year LCF is going to put in evidence an important contribution of the new technologies, which are often seen as ephemeral novelty, to modify the creative method of artists.

All performances have never been shown to the public or are going to be performed in Italy for the first time. Festival will be realized as live shows in order to provide one of a kind immersive synaesthetic experience.

After being affirmed on international level, Live Cinema Festival became an eagerly awaited event in the artistic cultural field of the Capital thanks to its highly innovative format and featuring content of great interest.

ARTISTS
Spokespersons of our mission will be artists originating from every part of the world, with a special attention reserved to the emerging local artists and the special section “Live Cinema Made in Italy”, each day they will be opening the festival with a performance.

EXTRA CONTENTS
Live cinema performance, talks, screenings, AV installations, workshops and symposiums, for a festival that reflects the spirit of our time.

Each evening performance will be preceded by the Symposium and this year’s theme is: “Seeing sounds. Performing audiovisuals in real-time, AI and cinema of the future ”. This will be a meeting where authors, curators and artists of international level are invited to discuss the synaesthetic relationship between sound and image in a real time audiovisual performance.

On the 23rd of September at the opening of the festival a guest of honor – finnish media artist and pioneer of Live Cinema, Mia Makela, will inaugurate the 8th edition of LCF with a lecture that will take us on a timeless journey into the world of audiovisual art: “In The Beginning There Was Light”.

LOCATION
The novelty of this year is the prestigious location that was chosen to hold the festival: Palazzo Brancaccio.

“The Eternal City will witness the return of one of the major historic buildings transformed into an international multidisciplinary center thanks to the partnership between Contemporary Cluster and SPAZIO FIELD.”

From 23rd to 26th September Live Cinema Festival will be the first event to inaugurate the new spaces.
